Monthly Favorites: March 2019 + Playlist
It seems like just yesterday it was my birthday, and now we’ve made it all the way to April. I probably say this every month, but March really did fly by. I won’t go into details, but March was a crazy month for my family. A lot of unexpected things happened and I feel like we’ve just been rushing to get a lot of things done around the house.
Now, let’s get into the details of everything I was obsessing over in March. This month was very heavy on entertainment for me. If you’re looking for something new to watch or listen to, then just keep reading!
Watch
I’m sure you already know, but Captain Marvel made its way to theaters early last month. I went to the theater knowing absolutely nothing about the movie. My boyfriend and I are excited for Avengers: Endgame, and we wanted to see Captain Marvel to prepare for the upcoming movie. I’m not the biggest superhero fan, and I probably dislike a lot of movies that others rave about. I heard quite a few people complain about the movie, but to my surprise, I really liked it. The movie was long, but it had the right amount of humor and kept my full attention. I highly recommend seeing it before the new movie comes out later this month.
If I had to choose, my favorite superhero would probably be Spider-Man (with Iron Man being a close second). I honestly didn’t know what to expect out of the new Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. I’ve loved every other movie with Spider-Man, but I wasn’t sure if I would like the animated movie. Once again, to my surprise, I rented it and I absolutely loved it. I will say the movie will leave the song “Sunflower” by Post Malone stuck in your head after you watch it. I went to work shortly after I watched it, and I even convinced a customer in the check-out line to go rent it.
Listen
I just recently decided to give podcasts a try. The podcast that reeled me in was Kalyn’s Coffee Talk by Kalyn Nicholson. I’ve been watching Kalyn’s YouTube videos for quite some time now, and I love all of her content. Her podcast episodes are very inspirational and motivational, and will be sure to put you in a better mood after listening to them. My personal favorite episode of hers is the one where she talks about detoxing her social media accounts. It inspired me to do my own social media detox (a blog post will probably be coming soon). I love listening to Kalyn’s podcast in my car, and I hope you will give her podcast a listen. I’m also open to any new podcast recommendations!
For my birthday, my boyfriend got me All Time Low’s So Wrong, It’s Right on vinyl, and I’m in love. 😍 The red and blue splattered pattern on the clear vinyl is so pretty! This album has a lot of my favorite All Time Low songs on it, including “Poppin’ Champagne” and “Six Feet Under the Stars.” There’s something about listening to your favorite albums on vinyl that I just love. My All Time Low record collection is so close to being completed, and I couldn’t be happier!
And if that wasn’t enough, I’ve also created another playlist with all my monthly favorites from March. I hope you enjoy.
