Monthly Favorites: February 2021

February was a pretty good month for me, and a nice change from my eventful January. It also happens to be my birthday month, so that also made it a little more special. February brought a lot of awesome new discoveries that I am excited to share with you all! I have a new recipe that I’m obsessed with, a new favorite series, and that is just the beginning. Without further ado, here are my latest obsessions from February.

Food

Loaded Sweet Potato Nachos

My boyfriend and I have started making better health choices and have started eating healthier these past few weeks. We have been trying new recipes and finding good ones that we can add to our rotation. I came across these Loaded Sweet Potato Nachos on Pinterest and I was intrigued. I have been slowly turning my boyfriend into a sweet potato fan, so I was excited when he said we could try these. And it turns out, we LOVED them! We were so sad when we ran out of the sweet potato “chips.” If you love nachos as much as I do, you’ll have to try this healthy alternative! I can also confirm that plain greek yogurt is a good sour cream substitute, after making these.

Nerds Gummy Clusters

Before we started eating healthier, I spotted these new Nerds Gummy Clusters at the store and I had to try them. Little did I know, these things were going viral on Instagram and were selling out at a lot of stores! And for a good reason – they are delicious!! If you can get your hands on a bag of these, be sure to let me know what you think of them.

I Care a Lot

I have mixed feelings about this movie, because the concept of it is purely evil. Rosamund Pike stars as Marla Grayson, a court-appointed legal guardian who traps clients under her care. Marla ends up messing with the wrong person and finds herself in deep trouble. Marla gives off the same vibes as Amy Dunne from Gone Girl (if you know, you know), and I can’t help but love her despite her bad intentions. This movie kept me hooked from the opening scene. This movie shed light on a topic that I had honestly never thought about before, and I’ve heard it compared to Britney Spears’ conservatorship. If you watch this movie, I’d love to know your thoughts!

I Care a Lot can be streamed on Netflix.

Firefly Lane

This series follows best friends, Tully and Kate, from highschool to adulthood with all the ups and downs along the way. I love how it tells the story in a combination of flashbacks and present day (2003). We see their journey of love, loss, family drama and friendship over the span of 30 years. I was hooked on this series from the first episode, and I can’t wait for a second season. I am also interested in reading the books, although I’ve heard the series takes a different turn than the books.

Secret Cat Forest Game

I have my mom to blame for getting me hooked on this mobile game. The concept of the game is to collect wood and fish, and build furniture to attract various cats to your house. It’s honestly just a cute game for cat lovers. The background music is so peaceful, and I think it is meant to be a chill game. However, that didn’t stop me from wanting to collect all the cats as soon as possible. The game is fairly new, and I don’t know anyone else who plays it. Start playing it now, and then you can get all your friends addicted too!
