Monthly Favorites: June 2020
I know we’re already about halfway into July, but I missed the opportunity to share my May Monthly Favorites so I wanted to jump back in for June (even if I’m a little later than usual). I had some things I really enjoyed in skincare, entertainment and music the past month so I wanted to make sure I was still able to share all of them with you.

Here are my June Monthly Favorites:
Skincare
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
When it comes to skin care, I tend to be pretty lazy. I know that’s probably not a good thing, but many nights I’m lucky if I remember to put on moisturizer before bed. I wanted to try out a new product that I could quickly use on nights when I’m too tired to fully wash my face. I came across the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water and it has been a lifesaver! It is perfect in the summertime to freshen up throughout the day. It also helps remove my makeup, and it’s meant for dry skin so of course it has quickly become one of my favorite skincare products.

Entertainment
Outerbanks on Netflix
This show isn’t something that I would typically watch, but I saw quite a few people recommend it so I decided to give it a chance. I honestly wasn’t expecting to like it, but I was very surprised. It’s basically like a modern day version of The Goonies. I binged the whole season in about 2 days, and normally it takes me longer to get through shows. That shows how much I actually liked it.
Kalyn Nicholson’s Healthy Food Prep Video
I’ve briefly mentioned my favorite Youtuber, Kalyn Nicolson, on my blog in the past, but I love all of the new content she’s been creating lately. I really enjoyed her Healthy Summer Food Prep video, because I’ve been needing more ideas for meal prepping since I’ve started going back to the office for work. Her video is unique in the fact that she does a “fridge prep” where she preps a bunch of food to make different meals out of it, rather than one meal to eat for the week. For example, she prepped tofu (she’s plant-based), chickpeas, quinoa and a bunch of fruit and vegetables, and put them in the fridge for the week. For meals, she was able to make salads, tofu tacos, veggie bowls, smoothies or whatever combination she wanted to make out of all of it. I really like the concept of a “fridge prep” because you don’t have to eat the same thing every day of the week. I will definitely be trying different versions of this and using my own favorite foods to create my meals.
Music
This month was another good one in music for me. State Champs released a new song called “Crying Out Loud” which is pretty moody, but I loved it. I also heard them cover the song “Haunted” by The Band CAMINO. I hadn’t heard the original so I decided to give it a listen, as well as some of their other songs. I had a feeling I was going to enjoy their music because they are also featured on All Time Low’s new album. I’ve had The Band CAMINO on repeat for days now (soo good). Speaking of All Time Low, they’ve been releasing acoustic videos of songs from their latest album, Wake Up, Sunshine. I love seeing how they’re adapting and social distancing during this pandemic to create new content for the fans. Seeing their individual clips come together is just beautiful. Be sure to check out their acoustic version of “Glitter and Crimson.”
I’ve updated my ongoing 2020 favorites playlist so be sure to give it a listen:
