Monthly Favorites: September 2020

Looking back on the past month, September brought a lot of fun new discoveries that I am excited to share with you all. Today, I’m sharing my latest favorites in entertainment, food and tech.

September 2020 Monthly Favorites

Entertainment

Gossip Girl

Yes, I know this show came out forever ago (over a decade, but who’s counting). I’m super late to the game, but I’ve heard so many things about this show, so I finally decided to give it a try. It’s pretty similar to Pretty Little Liars, but so far doesn’t have as many cliffhangers. I like that about it, because I can watch it more at my own pace. I just finished Season 1 and I’m really enjoying it so far. If you haven’t seen it already, you can check it out on Netflix.

Among Us

I have been watching a lot of people play games on Twitch lately, and one game I discovered recently is Among Us. This game seemed to blow up overnight because one day no one knew about it and the next day everyone was talking about it. I watched many, many streams of this game before finally downloading it on my phone to play on my own. It’s a super fun murder mystery style game.

You basically play with a group (up to 10 people), and you are trying to help your crewmates fix your spaceship. There are a few impostors who are able to sabotage the ship and kill you or your crewmates. The goal is to complete your tasks to fix the ship and figure out who the impostors are before they kill everyone. It’s super addicting, and I even got my mom to play it!

Super Mario 3D All Stars

If you’re a classic Mario fan with a Nintendo Switch, then you NEED to get this game! It contains 3 Mario games that you can now play on the Switch: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. I played all but Super Mario Sunshine growing up, so I am excited to try out a new game and play some old favorites.

Food

Queso Burger - Tried & Tru Alehouse

My boyfriend and I enjoy trying out new restaurants in the area, and he came across Tried & Tru Alehouse on the southside of Indy in Greenwood. Everything on the menu looked delicious! We tried the Buffalo Chicken Dip for an appetizer, and then we both got the Queso Smothered Chili-Cheeseburger and it was to die for. This restaurant has for sure been added to our list of favorites, and we will definitely be going back soon.

Tech

Stylebook App

This is one of those apps that I bought forever ago with an iTunes gift card and I completely forgot about it. That is, until Caitlin from And Possibly Dinosaurs did a blog post on how she uses the app, and it inspired me to finally put it to use! I have been slowly adding my wardrobe to the app, and it has completely changed the way I think about clothing. It made me aware of how much clothing I actually own, and has helped me cut down on my shopping habits. Once I actually get everything uploaded to the app, I can’t wait to start using it to plan out outfits. I also love reading all of the stats within the app, and I am trying to get the Cost Per Wear down on a bunch of items. If you want to take control of your closet, I highly recommend giving this app a try!
