Monthly Favorites: March 2020
Wow, all I can say is what a month it has been. March has been the worst month for me so far with the COVID-19 stuff happening and how it’s taken a toll on me. Not to mention, this is usually the time right after the new year that I always start to lose motivation and slack off on my goals for some reason. I’ve missed out on a few blog posts because I haven’t felt like writing lately, but I don’t plan on completely giving up blogging anytime soon. I just needed a little break to refocus and get back on track again. So, please don’t be alarmed if I take another unexpected break from blogging, I know I will pick back up when the time is right.
For now, I do have the motivation to write, so I wanted to spend the day writing and focusing on blog work. And with it being a new month, it’s time for me to share my Monthly Favorites from March. Here’s everything I’ve been loving in food and entertainment.
Food
Kizuki Ramen
To be honest, I haven’t had Kizuki’s ramen since Leap Day (my birthday), but I somehow left it out of my February Favorites. I haven’t stopped craving their ramen since then, so it had to make an appearance in my March Favorites! If you live around the Indianapolis area, make sure to take a trip to Carmel to try Kizuki. I had the Miso ramen and my boyfriend had the Garlic Tonkotsu ramen and we were both amazed with the quality of the ramen and how good it was. We can both agree that it was the best ramen we’ve ever had!
Pizookie from BJ’s Brewhouse
Another food favorite of mine this past month was the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Pizookie from BJ’s Brewhouse. If you don’t know what a pizookie is, it is a fresh-baked cookie topped with ice cream, and let me tell you — they are delicious! They have a lot of different ones to choose from, but this one has been my favorite so far.
Video Games
Mario Party 7
I’ve been playing quite a bit of video games lately. I bought a copy of Mario Party 7 to play with my boyfriend and his brother before everyone had to start social distancing. We had a lot of fun competing against each other, and I’m excited to hopefully make it a weekly thing again once this is all over. I used to play Mario Party 7 with my brothers years ago, and I’m happy I finally bought my own copy of it!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Let me just say, I’ve been waiting for this game to be released since before it was even officially announced that it was coming to the Nintendo Switch. I heard rumors they were making a new Animal Crossing game for the Switch, so I would watch every single Nintendo Direct leading up to the announcement because I was THAT excited. The game came out on March 20th, and I had it preordered of course. I’ve been playing it pretty much nonstop ever since. My boyfriend got me addicted to the series years ago so I’ve been a fan of the Animal Crossing games for a while. I’m very happy with this game and all the customization features they’ve added. Whether you’ve been a fan of the previous games, or you’re looking for a new game to help kill time while you’re stuck inside, I highly recommend this game!
Shows
The Bold Type
I’ve been watching this show since the premiere of the first season, and I’m obsessed. The show follows a group of three best friends who all work for a magazine called Scarlet. It’s one of the most “real” shows I’ve ever seen because it shows each character’s struggles as they navigate their career and lives in general. It also highlights a lot of real-life issues and it’s just a very inspiring show. I’m all caught up and I’m impatiently waiting for the return of the rest of Season 4. You can currently watch all seasons on Hulu.
Little Fires Everywhere
This show is a Hulu Original that is based off a best-selling book that I have heard nothing but good things about. There are a few episodes on Hulu already, but I’m impatiently waiting for the rest to be released. I haven’t read the book yet, and I’m not sure if the book and show start the same way so I don’t want to give away any spoilers. If you like dramas with mystery tied in, then I’m sure you’ll love this series. The whole season should be out by the end of April if you want to binge watch it all at once.
P.S. I’ve been watching Tiger King and I’m 3 episodes in and I still don’t understand the hype. 🤷🏻♀️
Music
All Time Low’s “Wake Up, Sunshine”
If you’ve read my last few Monthly Favorites posts, then you probably know that I’ve been obsessed with my favorite band All Time Low’s new singles and I’ve been anticipating the release of their 8th album. Their 8th album “Wake Up, Sunshine” was just released on April 3rd. Technically, this should have fallen under my April favorites, but I just can’t stop talking about this new album. Honestly, I think I can say that this is my favorite album of theirs to date. I love the lyrics, the storyline, the overall aesthetics — everything. There isn’t a song worth skipping to me and I think that’s what does it for me. Whether you’ve been an All Time Low fan for a while, or you’re just now hearing about this band for the first time, I highly suggest you give this album a listen. You can thank me later.
As always, I’m going to attach my 2020 Spotify playlist that has all my favorite songs in 2020 that I will continue to add to. I hope you enjoy:
That’s about it for my March Monthly Favorites. Have you watched any of these shows yet or tried any of these foods yet? What were some of your favorite things from March? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
Here are my favorite things from February in food and entertainment.
