A Few Things I'm Looking Forward To
Our lives have all been affected by this virus in one way or another. We’ve been sheltering in place, but places are starting to open back up more and more in certain areas. I look forward to the time when it is safe to go out and things can start to get back to normal. In the meantime, I think it is important to stay positive and have things to be excited about to help us get through this difficult time. I’m sharing a few of the things I’m looking forward to doing when all of this is over with.
Exploring the City
I’ve been living on the south side of Indianapolis for about eight months now. I still feel like I’ve not even seen a fraction of the city yet. I can’t wait to get back out and explore new places to eat and shop.
Going to the Movie Theater
I didn’t realize how much I would miss being able to go to the movie theater until I couldn’t go anymore. I know movies have been releasing for people to watch at home, but there’s something about the experience of sitting down at a theater with overpriced popcorn that I miss so much.
Concerts via Livestream
I know it will be awhile before it will be safe for concerts and other large events to go on. The music festival that I was looking forward to this summer got postponed until next year. I know many artists are hosting concerts via livestream to make up for cancelled tours and to raise money for their crew members. I am excited to get the opportunity to watch my favorite band from the comfort of my couch, and this also gives me something to look forward to next year!
Shopping for Home Décor
Before all of this started, I enjoyed taking trips to TJ Maxx and HomeGoods, even if I knew I wasn’t going to buy anything. After sitting in my apartment for so long, I’ve realized that I want to shop around for a few more décor pieces to spruce up the place. I can’t wait until stores start to reopen and it is safe to go out again.
Traveling to New Places
Although I don’t have any specific trips planned, I have been wanting to take a little trip somewhere for a while. Being cooped up for so long just makes me want to go now even more. I’m thinking about starting to save and plan for a trip somewhere in the fall since my boyfriend and I’s summer music festival trip got postponed until next year.
These are just a few of the things I’m looking forward to doing once the world is back in a better place. I can’t wait to catch up with all of my friends and family (hopefully soon). In the meantime, I’ll keep trying to adjust to this new normal, and stay hopeful about the future. Having things to look forward to, even if they still can’t happen for a while, helps make the current situation a little better.
