Life Update: June 2020

What a year 2020 has been so far. We’re not quite to the halfway point of the year, but so much has already happened around the world. I realized it had been awhile since my last life update, so I’m here to fill you in on what I’ve been up to lately.

As of recent, I have been taking time to learn about the Black Lives Matter movement and help out and do my part. In case you missed it, I wrote a post called ‘5 Ways You Can Support the Black Lives Matter Movement’ if you would also like to educate yourself on the topic and find ways you can help. I’ve been adding a bunch of things to my ‘To Read’ and ‘To Watch’ lists to educate myself.

I think the biggest thing that has happened in my personal life is my boyfriend and I got a pet chameleon. We named her “Charmeleon” (after the Pokémon) or we call her “Char” for short. I have learned so much about chameleons from joining a group on Facebook. I was surprised to find out that the lighting that comes in most chameleon kits at pet stores is completely wrong, so we had to buy all new and switch everything out. She can be so moody at times from just looking at her, but we love her so much already. 😂 ❤️

I had been working from home full time since mid-March, but I recently started going back to the office two days a week. It is nice to be able to slowly adjust to going back rather than going back all at once. It is also nice to start seeing other people again!!

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, then you know I love doing random challenges. I’ve already completed the Minimalism Game, and I am in the process of doing the 101 Things in 1001 Days challenge. I am spending the month competing against Caitlin from And Possibly Dinosaurs to see who can complete the most things on their 101 Things in 1001 Days list. She reached out to me after seeing my list and saw that I wanted to collaborate with another blogger. We came up with the idea to challenge each other to see who could cross the most things off their list in a month. Stay tuned to see who won in a later blog post! Be sure to check out Caitlin’s 101 Things List.

My boyfriend’s birthday was on June 7th, and we drove down to his parent’s house and spent the day with his family and a few of his close friends. His dad made homemade ramen and we all ate and caught up with everyone outside. His brother and sister-in-law even surprised him beforehand since they couldn’t make it. I think he had a pretty good birthday!

I met up with my friend Cayla for the first time since quarantine and we went to this locally owned flower and lavender farm not far from where I live! She found it on Facebook, but I had no idea it existed. We also found Mochi, and I tried it for the first time. It was actually really good, and now I’m hooked!

That’s about all of the semi-interesting things that I’ve been up to recently. I like reading other people’s life update posts, so I hope you found this one a little interesting. It’s nice to let family and friends know what you’ve been up to if you don’t post too often and haven’t seen them in awhile.

What things have you been up to recently?

Until next time,
