Monthly Goals: January 2021
I debated even making this post since the month will almost be up by the time you’re reading this. But, one of my goals for the new year is to be more consistent with my blog, so I thought it made sense to not skip a Monthly Goals post. I think 2020 taught us all the importance of being adaptable to different things life throws at us, and I’m still learning how to be better at that. Normally, I start planning out my goals for the new year in November or December, but I didn’t get around to it until the beginning of January this year. I’m realizing that it’s alright to take things slow and not rush into a new year.
I’m also trying to break my goals for the year down into smaller actionable steps. I didn’t do a very good job of this last year, so most of my goals ended up falling off track. I think this better approach will help me achieve more throughout the year!
Here are my main goals for 2021 incase you were wondering:
Read 12 books
Incorporate more movement into my daily life
Get more consistent with my blog
Explore 1 new place each month (parks, trails, new restaurants, etc.)
Grow my email list and launch an e-newsletter (Click here to sign up!)
Now, let’s take a peek at my goals for this month.
January 2021 Goals
Read 1 Book
My goal last year was to read one book per month. I’m keeping the same goal this year since I just barely met it last year and had to play catch up at the end of the year.
Create Blog Editorial Calendar for January through March
I’m going to need a game plan if I want to be more consistent with my blog this year. I even want to try to get a few posts written ahead of time so I’ll be prepared when life happens and I don’t have time to write a post.
Compile a YouTube playlist of various workouts to try
I always seem to get back into fitness at the beginning of a year, and then I fall off track a couple months in. I think having a list of workouts to choose from will help keep me motivated. That way, I won’t have to waste as much time looking for workouts and I can just jump right into it.
Compile a list of healthy foods and snacks to keep on hand
I’m trying to eat a little healthier this year, so I need ideas for quick breakfasts, lunch meal prep, dinners and snacks. Having a list of ideas will make my meal planning and grocery shopping so much easier!
Explore 1 new place
One thing that was lacking in 2020 for me was getting out and exploring new places. I barely went outside and got any fresh air. I want to change that in 2021, so I’m aiming to explore one new place each month. In the colder months, I will allow myself to explore indoor places or try a new restaurant.
Create a social media strategy for the blog
I’ve honestly been slacking when it comes to sharing my posts on social media. I will tweet or share the post to Facebook and Instagram stories when the post is published, but that’s about it. I need to come up with a strategy to share posts more often to get more engagement on the blog.
I’ll catch back up with you at the beginning of February and let you know how I do. Sharing my goals online helps keep me motivated, so I hope you enjoy reading them.

Until next time,
In this post, I review my progress of my February goals and set new goals for March.
